Quick 10:
#1 Tell us a bit about yourself and your work
I work with individuals and families navigating retirement transitions, with an emphasis on thoughtful, tax-aware planning, and I have a particular passion for supporting women during life transitions such as divorce or the loss of a spouse. I live and work in Naperville, Illinois.
#2 What is the most rewarding part of being in the financial advising industry?
Helping clients move from uncertainty to clarity. There’s something deeply rewarding about being a steady presence during decisions that truly matter.
#3 What’s the most challenging part?
Navigating the fact that money is rarely just about numbers. Emotions, family history, and life experiences all show up, and meeting clients where they are takes care and intention.
#4 Knowing what you know now, what piece of career advice would you give your younger self?
Control what you can control, and let progress matter more than perfection. It’s a reminder I come back to often, in my work and in my own personal life.
#5 What’s one way a female has positively influenced your professional or personal growth?
My mom modeled a life rooted in kindness and serving her family and friends. She taught me that success isn’t about getting ahead, but about growing and using your gifts to help others and sharing what we’ve been given.
#6 What unexpected skill, hobby, or practice brings you joy right now?
I’ve been cutting hair for family members for years whenever the need comes up. It’s a simple way to help, and I love the focused, uninterrupted time it creates to slow down and reconnect.
#7 Describe a unique strength or superpower you have that rarely shows up on a résumé.
I’ve been told that I have a calm about me and that I am patient. When situations feel stressful or emotional I really try to show up with support and reassurance.
#8 What’s a daily or weekly ritual you rely on to feel grounded?
Family time. I want to not just feel connected to my husband and kids but I want to see it show up on my schedule. Almost every week we are sharing a meal or stopping by each of my kids homes or they come see us. Feeling connected to your adult children and grandchildren is fuel.
#9 Share your three all-time favorite books.
- The Confidence Code by Katty Kay and Claire Shipman
- Atomic Habits by James Clear
- The Bible
#10 If you could host a themed girls’ night, what would the theme be?
Game night. Let’s play cards, dice, a fun board game or darts and ping pong. I love the laughter and interaction that games bring to a gathering of friends and family.
