Andrea Johnson, VP of Accounting at Carson Group is spearheading the internal launch at Carson to ensure that their advisors gain all of the benefits the Women’s Alliance community has to offer. To help our community get to know Carson Group, their team has answered a few questions below.

Can you share an overview of Carson’s  mission and the services and resources it provides to financial advisors?

Carson is a visionary wealth management firm built by advisors, for advisors — where growth is intentional and culture has a heartbeat. We partner with financial advisors at every stage of growth by providing support across investments, marketing, technology, compliance, operations, tax and estate planning and practice management.

What makes Carson different is that we’re practitioner-led. Many of our leaders have been advisors themselves, so we understand the real challenges advisors face. We’re also intentional about building a culture where advisors feel supported, connected and empowered to grow both professionally and personally.

What are some of the biggest challenges female financial advisors face today, and how does Carson help address them?

Women remain underrepresented in financial services, and many still face barriers around mentorship, networking and visibility. There’s also a broader awareness challenge, as many young women simply aren’t introduced to financial advising as a career path early enough.

At Carson, we believe intentional support matters. We invest in mentorship, leadership development and community building through programs like our Represent Conference, quarterly women advisor forums and Women’s Stakeholder Resource Group. We want women to see clear pathways for growth and leadership within the profession.

What made partnering with The Women’s Alliance of Financial Advisors a meaningful opportunity for Carson?

This partnership felt like a natural fit because our organizations are closely aligned in both mission and purpose. Carson’s Workforce & Market Expansion Council was created to help foster a culture of inclusion, belonging and opportunity, while the Women’s Alliance is deeply focused on attracting, developing and empowering women to build thriving careers in financial advising.

We also recognize the importance of representation as the industry evolves and wealth increasingly shifts into the hands of women. Female investors should have the option to work with advisors who understand and can relate to their unique financial experiences, priorities and goals.

“Partnering with the Women’s Alliance allows us to help strengthen the pipeline of women entering and advancing in the profession while creating more opportunities for mentorship, development and long-term success across the industry.”

Why do you feel it’s important for organizations across the industry to invest in advancing women in financial advising?

Advancing women in wealth management is about building a stronger industry that better reflects and serves today’s clients.

Women bring valuable perspectives to financial planning, relationship building and leadership. At a time when firms are navigating succession planning and advisor shortages, the industry cannot afford to overlook talent. Organizations that intentionally invest in women are helping strengthen the future of the profession as a whole.

Women’s Alliance believes that when women are empowered with access, opportunity and support, they thrive. How does Carson support and empower women in the industry internally and externally?

Carson has made a long-term commitment to supporting women through mentorship, leadership development and community building.

Internally, that includes initiatives like our annual Represent Conference, women advisor meetings, wellness programming and Women’s Stakeholder Resource Group. Externally, we work to elevate women voices through speaking opportunities, thought leadership and partnerships like this one with the Women’s Alliance.

Most importantly, we want women at Carson to feel they have both a seat at the table and a clear path forward.

Collaboration is a core value of Women’s Alliance. How can partnerships like this move beyond conversation and take action to move the industry forward?

Real progress happens when organizations create tangible opportunities for mentorship, education and career development, not just conversations around the challenges.

Through this partnership, Carson senior women advisors will have opportunities to provide coaching and mentorship to emerging advisors across the country, helping create stronger pathways for growth and leadership. We’re also excited for Carson leaders and subject matter experts to contribute educational content and speak at Women’s Alliance events to help deepen knowledge around complex industry topics.

We also see strong potential to collaborate on internship opportunities for up-and-coming women advisors, helping introduce more young women to the profession earlier in their careers. Internally, Carson is intentional about recognizing and supporting career advancement, including stakeholders who transition into advisor roles or achieve important certification milestones.

Partnerships like this create meaningful action by helping women build connections, confidence and career opportunities throughout the industry.

What excites Carson most about the potential impact of this new partnership?

What excites us most is the opportunity to create stronger long term support systems and professional networks for women advisors at every stage of their careers.

This partnership provides access to professional development webinars, educational resources and coaching opportunities tailored specifically to the experiences and goals of women in financial advising. We’re especially excited about the potential for woman-to-woman mentorship and confidential coaching conversations that can help advisors navigate complex career and leadership challenges.

The partnership also creates opportunities for Carson advisors to share their expertise through speaking engagements and live industry events, helping elevate more women voices across the profession. Just as importantly, Carson will have a seat at the table through participation and leadership involvement with the Women’s Alliance, helping contribute to important conversations shaping the future of the industry.

Ultimately, we’re excited about building meaningful connections, expanding opportunities and helping more women thrive in financial advising.

What inspires you personally about supporting the next generation of women in financial advising?

It’s inspiring to see more women entering the industry, stepping into leadership roles and redefining what success in wealth management looks like.

There’s still work to do, but helping create environments where women feel supported, confident and empowered to grow is incredibly meaningful. When more perspectives are represented in this profession, both advisors and clients benefit.

At the Women’s Alliance, we believe that financial advising is an incredibly fulfilling path for women seeking purpose, flexibility, and success. We are passionate about creating firm-neutral connections where women lift one another up.
