Quick 10!
#1 Briefly tell us about your business.
As an Advisor and Senior Planner at Kennedy Investment Group, I lead our financial planning team with a focus on high-complexity planning strategies tailored to help clients navigate their most important financial decisions. With deep experience in advanced planning techniques, I work closely with individuals and families to create personalized, actionable plans aligned with their long-term goals. Living in Fishtown and working at our office in South Jersey gives me a unique perspective on the financial needs of clients across the Greater Philadelphia region.
#2 What is the most rewarding part of being a financial advisor?
I have been an advisor for over 4 years now. The most rewarding part of being an advisor is making a meaningful difference in people’s lives. This could mean guiding clients through major life transitions or helping them gain a clearer understanding of complex financial topics. Ultimately, leaving every client interaction better than I found it, is the most fulfilling.
#3 What is the most challenging part?
The most challenging part about being an advisor is managing client emotions. In addition to providing financial guidance, we need to support clients through emotions like fear, anxiety, sadness, etc., especially during uncertain or difficult times.
#4 Knowing what you know now, what piece of career advice you’d give your younger self?
I would tell my younger self to stay curious and never stop asking questions. Over the years, I have learned so much from the advisors and team members I have worked alongside. By recognizing the different ways they engage with clients and colleagues has helped me with my own approach.
#5. What is one idea to further move the needle in attracting, retaining and/or advancing more women in financial advising?
Continue to network and support other woman in finance through groups like this. Mentorships at all stages of your career.
#6. What’s one of your superpowers that has nothing to do with wealth management?
My love for fashion and ability to put pieces together. I also am very good at finding expensive/designer items for less (sometimes even better quality). This may have to do with wealth management though! LOL!
#7 What’s one of your non-negotiable self-care practices?
My non-negotiable self-care practice is setting aside time each day to prioritize myself, specifically through fitness. I love going straight from the office to a Solidcore class and having the next 50 minutes to reset and refocus. It makes me stronger both mentally and physically.
#8 Who is a woman who has had an important impact on your life or career?
My mom has had the most important impact on both my life and my career. She is the hardest-working woman I’ve ever known. What sets her apart is the way she carries her work ethic with such grace, care, and joy. She truly embodies the motto I live by: Leave things better than you found them. Watching her live that out every day has shaped who I am and how I show up in the world.
#9 What is one of your all-time favorite books?
The Let Them Theory (a more recent read and addition).
#10 If your life were a movie, what would the title be?
“Behind the Blazer, a Heart of Gold”.
